Today has been a bit busy having to get the second hand cymbals that came into us here at Drum Shop UK over the weekend. We needed to get them all checked over to make sure that they are in good condition. We would hate for you to buy something that just isn’t what you thought it to be. So yeah, we check them over for nicks, key-holing and most importantly we make sure there are no cracks. The way to check for cracks is to mount the cymbal onto a stand and give it a hit with a drum stick, you will know straight away. Then, after we check them over we give them a rub and a clean and then we rate them out of 10, 1 being useless and 10 being, well, brand new and never touched.
A lot of the cymbals we get in are great condition as a lot of you look after your drumming equipment. It’s always best to every now and again to give your cymbals a good clean, especially if you are gigging a lot. You’ll be surprised how much dirt can be picked up. Using Crazy Johns Cymbal Cleaner keeps them looking new and sounding bright as the day you got them. The other advantage of keeping your cymbals in a nice clean condition is when and if you ever come to part exchange them from Drum Shop UK you will be guaranteed to get a much better price for them.
