A great Tuning day had by all at Drum Shop UK.
Yes another event that went down a storm but we could not have done it without the help of our amazing customers and the brilliant Jeff Davenport along side EMD Musics very own Andy Thomas.
The day started steady at 11am with our customers bringing in their own drums to been seen to by the master of drum tuning, Jeff Davenport. A variety of drums came through the doors some even bringing their whole drum kit to be tuned up. We had DW snare drums, vintage Ludwig floor toms to even the newest Rock and Whiskey snare drum and an expensive Craviotto drum kit. Jeff definitely had his work cut out for him, but that doesn’t seem to phase Jeff.
The day wasn’t just about bringing in your drums to get them tuned up.. The whole idea was to help everyone who turned up, to learn how to get the best from your drums, which type of drum head would suite your style of playing and then learning to get the best sound out of your drum. Everyone who brought in a drum could not believe the difference Jeff made to the sound of their drums. It may have been just a matter of a couple more turns of the tension rod or advice into changing the type of drum head. This was a very worth while workshop for all who came to see Jeff.
We here at Drum Shop UK have to say that Jeff always amazes us with his knowledge and sheer talent. If you missed this Remo Drum Tuning Day then keep your eyes open for the next one. This was a definite day any drummer should have put into their diary but we are sure there will be another day. If you would be interested in us putting on another Drum Tuning Day in the future then please let us know..
I have added a number of photographs that I took throughout the day for you to look at. Once again, thank you to all of you who came along to the FREE Remo Drum Tuning Day, a special thank you to Andy Thomas from EMD Music and of course Jeff Davenport who both gave up their Sunday to be with us all here at Drum Shop UK
