We all started somewhere

The Drum Shop is very proud to announce its NEW teaching facility.

After 6 months of hard work we have now opened our drum teaching facility in Washington Tyne & Wear.

The Drum Shop as always gave out the names of very reputable drum and percussion teachers as we did not have the space to do any teaching. After 2 years searching for the correct building we have now purchased 3000 square foot of space.

We have allocated a section of the building to dedicated drum teaching.

The booths offer support from Yamaha and Roland products giving the pupil the best possible equipment on the market today. The booths are also fitted with LCD TVs and DVD players for play along and have two kits in each booth for pupil and teacher.

If you are a parent or a friend who has come along with the pupil for support you can relax and watch TV on the latest 48" Sony with DVDs, PlayStation games or simply read a book while you wait. Oh if you wish to you can try your luck on the 'BAYWATCH' pinball machine which is also there for your amusement (free of charge of course). Tea Coffee and other beverages are available also free of charge.

This studio really is like nothing in the north so why not give us a call and check it out.

The studio is situated just of the Washington highway A1231 which is the main road between the A1 and A19. This gives easy access if you are travelling from the north or the south - its easy and we also have our own private parking bays.

Now to the educators:

We spoke with a good friend of ours mike dolbear www.mikedolbear.com who has had many pupils who have gone on to great things in the music industry and advised us of the best way forward. With all his advice we approached Mr Geoffrey Hutchinson on a consultancy basis and after many meetings we put a plan into place.

Mr Hutchinson helped us to arrange a network of the best teachers available in what ever field you would like from Rock, Jazz, Samba, Orchestral we can supply it all. Mr Hutchinson has recently had 6 of his pupils achieve scholarships at Berkley college of music in Boston which is unheard of in this area let alone England check out the web site http://www.berklee.edu/ so we can accommodate all types of pupils from beginners to professionals.

We will also have many professional players coming to teach we have Steve White from Paul Weller band and The Players coming in December and lessons are available on a one to one basis, call us for details.

We also are holding regular drumming events some of the past names include Thomas Lang, Andy Gangadeen, Zorro, Mike Mangini, Russ Miller, Russ Mckinnon, Stanton Moore, Damon Wilson, and the list goes on.
