Maybe you've been considering buying your son/daughter or niece/nephew a drum kit for their birthday or even Christmas (yes, that is only 2 months away - eek!) but feel a bit daunted by the whole 'drumming world'? Well we're here to help and one drum kit I'd like to point you in the direction of is the new Ludwig Pocket Drum Kit...
Now, let's just take a moment to appreciate how cool this teeny tiny drum kit is! Okay, so now we've taken a moment I'll explain a little more about it...
The Pocket Kit is a new pocket-sized drum kit (well, not quite) from Ludwig and has been designed in collaboration with Questlove* for young drummers around the ages of 4-10 years old.
*Questlove - Well known American drummer/percussionist, among other talents. Questlove produced recordings for Jay-Z, Elvis Costello, Amy Winehouse and many more.
The recommended age for this junior drum kit is 4-10 years as it has been built with a small drum kit configuration, ideal for those growing arms and legs! (drum kit configuration = number/sizes of drums).
There are 4 drums which make up the Pocket Kit, the bass drum is 16" in diameter and sits on the floor on spurs (aka bass drum legs - included), a tom which is 10", mounted above the bass drum using a tom arm (tom arm included) a 13" floor tom, stands on the floor using three floor tom legs (legs included) and a snare drum which is fitted into a snare drum stand (you guessed it - stand included!) In fact, everything you could possibly need to start drumming is included with this Ludwig drum kit... Four drums, 2 cymbals, a seat, drumsticks, accessories and all the hardware (aka drum and cymbal stands). Oh and I forgot to mention, you also get 6 FREE online introductory drum lessons by Questlove himself!
This Ludwig drum kit comes in a choice of three finishes (colours) which are Wine Red Sparkle, Black Sparkle and Silver Sparkle. So to re-cap, if you want some serious 'cool auntie/mam/dad' points, this is the drum kit you want to go for!
