Description
Promark Forward Balance Sticks
Percussion instructor and shop owner Herb Brochestein founded Promark back in 1957, in Houston, Texas where it's still based today! Since it's first years, Promark has became a widely known stick company, being the first company to introduce Japanese Shira-Kashi white oak into the American market, successfully becoming the only company to market oak sticks in the United States, and, in 2011, they became part of D'Addario. More recently, they have chosen to use non-endangered wood and a "green" finishing process, this makes their sticks and manufacturing process safer to each of their players and to the environment!
The Promark Forward Balance 7A Hickory Acorn Tip Drumsticks feature wooden acorn tips, forward and rebound tapers with hickory shafts. The reinvented Acorn tip provides a larger sweet-spot to increase responsiveness and articulation. Hickory isn't the most popular wood choice for no reason, it produces amazing resilience, responsiveness, durability and classic feel.
The Forward Balance drumstick models feature a short, 2 1/4" taper, which shifts the drumsticks balance from the centre to towards the tip, producing a front heavy feel that is well-suited for rock or heavy playing. Whilst, Rebound drumstick models feature a long, 3" taper, which shifts the centre of balance towards the back of the stick, offering a feel that is ideal for jazz, funk and gospel.
