NAMM Update - Istanbul Cymbals

Istanbul without doubt make some of the most beautiful sounding cymbals around, and this year they have continued to hold their heads high!! New this year is the ART20 series (Alchemy Radical Technology), these are cast cymbals with Istanbul’s own special mix of B20 alloy, then hand hammered by their master artisans in Turkey! With a combination of depth, clarity, projection with warm musical overtones starting from £89 these are definitely well worth the money.

Along with the ART20 range, Istanbul have also redesigned the Alchemy range. They have completely overhauled the cymbals, the most obvious being that they have lathed the cymbal thinner as it gets towards the edge of the cymbal, giving it a quicker response, with a brighter yet fuller sound. Again, these cymbals should be priced much higher for what they are and how they sound! Unbelievable!!

The owners Arman and Sarkis the sons of Agop who was the master artisan cymbal smith, they have been very supportive of the guys at Drum Shop UK, taking onboard the comments and suggestions from all who shop at DSUK, and we’re very welcoming when we arrived on the stand.
