This black steel shell snare was developed by drummer Mike Portnoy. It features a hammered black shell with the new Mike Portnoy logo in purple and purple features. The hammered texture of the steel enhances the tonal complexity of the snare as the sound waves reflect off the textured steel. This signature snare features a unique three way strainer, which offers different sounds without having to switch to another snare drum.
