The evening was held at the Space bar, Newcastle College on the evening 7th May 2013. The sold out evening began with a young drumming star of the future, Oscar Ogden hailing from Manchester. Oscar who is only 13 years old delivered an awesome performance and came across to his audience really well. Look out for Oscar in the near future, who we are sure will be a rising star in the drumming world. Once again, thank you Oscar for a great night.
Moving on to the main event which was sponsored by Meinl and Pro-Mark. The man himself Mr Benny Greb came to the floor with a rapturous response from the crowd of drummers waiting to be impressed. Benny came across as a very humble man, he introduced himself and let us know what he was hoping to show us all over the evening. He began by playing along to a couple of tracks, which was amazing by the way he also played the shells of his Sonor drums.
Benny talked to us about his career and how he got to where he is now. There was plenty of demonstrations that made many drummers jaws drop which was great to see. He let the audience throw many questions to which he answered as fully as he could.. The evening was due to end at 10pm but went on until after 11pm. This was due the fact Benny tried to sign as many autographs and chat to everyone. He did not have to do this but being the gent that he is, he made the time for everyone..
A great night had by all. Oh and a special thank you to Benny for coming into our store the next day for a quick visit :)
