The Thomas Lang drum clinic took place at Newcastle College Space Bar last Tuesday, 18th March and it was a huge success with a great turn out!
Opening the night and warming up the crowd was Charlie Vasiliou, who you may have seen at various other drumming events, including the February 2012 Craig Blundell drum clinic here at Drumshop UK. Charlie was also a runner up of Mike Dolbears Young Drummer of the Year in 2012... but he's came a long was since then and really wowed the audience last Tuesday night!
Secondly, we saw Adam Stapleford who brought a whole new vibe to the night, introducing us to his style of 'drumming from around the world', contrasting with Charlie's Rock/Pop genre. Yet another talented drummer to look out for!
Then it was Thomas Langs turn... Not only did Thomas amaze everyone with his drumming skills but also took some time away from playing to answer questions from his curious fans. At some point during the night, you might have spotted Mick sneaking his way around the venue taking photos for this very blog post... You can see some of the photos below!
Thomas took us through his set-up, and explained that he sets his drum kit up differently each time. On the night, he was playing a DW Collectors drum kit in White Marine Pearl which was supplied by ourselves, Drumshop UK. Thomas brought a few bits and bobs with him including percussion instruments and of course his drumsticks! Thomas was his usual professional self and it was an honour to be a part of such a great night!
A big thank you to all that came, we hope to see you all at our next drum event... to be announced very soon!
