A Drum Kit with History: Wez Westgate's New Pre-Loved Pearl World Series

There's something special about a drum kit that's already lived a life. The worn hardware, the battle-scarred shells, the heads that have absorbed thousands of hours of playing — they tell a story before you've even struck a note. And when that kit finds its way into the right hands, the story continues.

That's exactly what happened when our good friend Wez Westgate walked away with our Pre-Loved Pearl World Series 22" 4-Piece Shell Pack in Red — and we couldn't be more pleased for him.

Pre-Loved Pearl World Series 22" 4-Piece Shell Pack in Red

A Classic Kit from a Golden Era

The Pearl World Series was Pearl's mid-range flagship from the late 1980s through to the early 1990s, built with birch/mahogany shells that gave it a warm, punchy tone suited to virtually any musical style. This particular kit — a 22"×16" bass drum, 12"×10" and 13"×11" toms, and a 16"×16" floor tom — is a proper four-piece workhorse in a striking red wrap finish.

It arrived with us in good pre-loved condition: fully working, no cracks, no structural damage. The cosmetic signs of regular use — a few scratches here, some light hardware wear there — only add to its character. This is a kit that's been played, and played properly.

Into Good Hands

Wez is exactly the kind of drummer a kit like this deserves. A passionate player and a familiar face in the drumming community, we're thrilled to see this Pearl World Series heading off to a new home and a new chapter with him.
