Yesterday was super exciting, here at Drum Shop, we had the pleasure of receiving Evans' brand new UV2 drumheads! These heads have been in the making for a while, but we finally have got our hands onto the complete products. To refresh your memory, watch this prototype clip from 2018...

Who are Evans?

Evans are renowned in the music industry for their high quality drumheads, having created the first synthetic, weatherproof drumhead that substantially changed the world of drumming. Their commitment to quality has led to their immense success in the drumming industry, with artists such as Phil Rudd from AC/DC, known as "the very definition of rock drumming" by Modern Drummer, using their drumheads. What is UV2?

You might be wondering "what makes these heads different from the rest?" UV2 drumheads are an expansion of Evans' UV-cured coating technology, this series uses a two-ply patented UV cured coating process format! As well as, the UV-cured coating process over two plies of reinforced 7mil film, these heads are tested with some of the heaviest of hitters, this extensive research ensures they are suitable for any drummer, setting a new standard for durability. Providing versatility on snares and warmth and focus on toms. The UV2 line is Evans' first product showcasing their new packaging with the Sound Icon System! After reinventing themselves, the packaging is the perfect way for Evans to establish a new look and feel for the brand.
