TreeWorks EchoTree Single Row Chime
The echo is a sound many of us take for granted it can happen repeatedly throughout the day and can be produced by a range of mundane, daily objects all around us. The geniuses at TreeWorks however recognised the need for an echo in many musical settings and acted on that impulse. An echo can signify a number of things but is most commonly used to create suspense or intrigue, reaffirm a particular note or point and is even used to describe or signify a flashback or memory, in some sound settings.
The TreeWorks EchoTree Single Row Chime is for sure an alternate sound that is truly unique. At a glance it looks as if the same five bars are repeated across the length of the EchoTree chime, but on closer inspection it becomes obvious that each set of five notes does repeat, but with each new section the sequence is lower in pitch, in so creating a haunting almost siren like sound. The exceptional quality of these chimes undoubtedly contributes to the success of this chime. TreeWorks use 3/8" thick aluminium/titanium alloy bars that have been custom sourced and selected with quality being a main factor for selection. Once the bars have been selected, each bar is hand polished and heat tempered to T-6 specifications to create that brilliant tone TreeWorks are renowned for. To round each chime off, each bar is then attached by hand to a mantle crafted using the finest Tennessee Black Walnut using TreeWorks ultra strength braided CordLoc.
Interestingly this chime is used by the Drum Corps and is popular with musical therapists, presumably for it's harrowing qualities evoking or drawing out memories. With a barrage of uses for an echo, this instrument would be at home in several settings and atmospheres, from live and studio orchestral use to musical therapy, the exotic tuning creates a haunting delay that you won't forget.
