A great example of a 1979/1980 Ludwig classic maple Thermogloss, this kit captures the warm, open tone and unmistakable vibe that defined late 70s/early 80s rock, fusion, and studio sounds. Finished in natural maple Thermogloss, these shells have aged with character, showing the kind of patina and wear you’d expect from a well-loved vintage kit.

The shells are 3-ply maple/poplar with reinforcing rings, delivering a full-bodied tone with plenty of resonance and projection. Hardware is all Ludwig of the period, including the classic large lugs, tom mounts, and spurs.

Kit Configuration:

• Bass Drum: 22" x 14"
• Tom: 13" x 9"
• Floor Tom: 16" x 16"
• Includes tom holder (Tom needs a new swivel nut and wing nut to be mounted on the bass drum)

Please Note the snare stand is not included.

Condition:

• In Fair Pre Loved Condition - Fully functional with no structural damage to the shells. Please note that the swivel nut and wing nut for the rack tom mounting system are missing; these will need to be replaced in order to mount the tom to the bass drum. The bass drum hoop has a small crack near the tension rods, and all drums show typical cosmetic wear for their age, including marks, scratches, and minor dents to the finish. The chrome hardware has areas of pitting and scratching, and the floor tom is missing its rubber feet.

  Overall, this is a well-gigged vintage kit that remains very playable. The cosmetic imperfections do not affect the sound, and with a little care and attention, this could be a very characterful and enjoyable kit to own.
