Drum Kit Tuning Terms

Drum Kit Tuning & Set-Up – Important Information:

• Non-Original Packaging: New drum kits are often supplied “Russian dolled”, with smaller drums packed inside larger drums to reduce packaging size. Once your kit has been unpacked, assembled and tuned, the drums may no longer fit safely back into their original factory packaging. We may therefore use alternative suitable packaging to ensure your kit is protected during transit.
• Bass drum: For delivered orders, the bass drum will not be fully tuned. To minimise the risk of damage during transit, the bass drum heads and hoops may need to be removed for shipping. These will need to be fitted and tuned by the customer on arrival.
• Transit: Drum heads can naturally change tension during transportation and because of changes in temperature or humidity. Minor re-tuning may therefore be required after delivery.
• Tuning preference: Unless otherwise agreed, we will tune the kit to a balanced, general-purpose tuning suitable for the drum sizes and heads supplied. Final tuning is subjective and may require minor adjustment to suit your playing style, room, musical style or personal preference.
