Who Is Eric Moore?

If you haven't heard of Eric Moore, prepare to have your world rocked. Hailing from the United States, Eric is widely regarded as one of the most innovative and technically advanced drummers of his generation — a musician who doesn't just play the drums, he speaks through them.

Eric Moore is an incredible American drummer, producer and educator, known around the world for his explosive technique, amazing speed and deep, powerful groove. He first gained international recognition after winning the 2003 Guitar Center Drum-Off, which helped launch a remarkable career performing with artists including Bobby Brown and Sly & the Family Stone.

Eric later made a huge impact in the rock, metal and progressive-fusion worlds through his work with Infectious Grooves, Suicidal Tendencies and the instrumental supergroup T.R.A.M. His distinctive playing combines gospel-rooted feel, incredible precision and breathtaking speed—but, most importantly, he always plays with genuine musicality and groove.

As I write this I have personally waited years for this drum clinic. Many years ago, I spoke with Eric’s close friend, the late, great Aaron Spears, and that conversation made the opportunity to finally welcome Eric feel even more meaningful.

As a leading figure in the GospelChops movement, Eric has inspired drummers across the world through his live performances, drum clinics, masterclasses, online lessons and viral videos. His influence on modern drumming is undeniable, and I am incredibly excited that we finally have the opportunity to experience his playing, knowledge and personality up close.

Eric Moore is now a proud Gretsch Drums artist — and at the clinic, you can expect to see Eric performing on a full Gretsch kit.
