Snare Drum Tuning & Set-Up – Important Information:

  • Transit: Drum heads can naturally change tension during transportation and because of changes in temperature or humidity. Minor re-tuning may therefore be required after delivery.
  • Tuning preference: Unless otherwise agreed, we will tune the kit to a balanced, general-purpose tuning suitable for the drum sizes and heads supplied. Final tuning is subjective and may require minor adjustment to suit your playing style, room, musical style or personal preference.

Key Features:

  • 14" x 6.5" 8-ply birch shell
  • 30-degree bearing edges
  • 2.5mm triple-flanged hoops
  • 20-strand steel snare wires
  • Gretsch Full Range throw-off and butt plate

The 6.5-inch depth adds extra body and punch to the controlled character of the 8-ply birch shell. It produces a full backbeat with a short, focused decay, giving you a versatile snare that remains clear in a busy live or recorded mix.
