Description
Gruv-X X-Mundo - Natural Satin
A percussive problem-solver. When playing the "Cascara", or other "Palito" rhythms, Afro-Cuban percussionists use sticks to strike the side of their timbales. When no timbale is available, many drummers choose to use the side of their floor tom instead. This produces an earthy, wood-y click which may even be more desirable in and of itself, but can cause damage to the tom's finish.
The Mundo's combined layers of copper and USA rock maple are designed to produce a combination of the two sounds: an organic attack, with a ringing, metal-drum sustain. A small, meticulously placed vent hole lowers the natural pitch of the Mundo, to more accurately imitate the tone of a timbale.
The Gruv-X Mundo doesn't just provide drummers with a greater variety of tones. It also saves space on stage, and reduces the amount of drum elements which must be mic'd up in a studio setting.
The "Mono Mount" is a proprietary mount that is supplied and installed onto the Mundo (and its sister product, the X-Click) and works on drums of all sizes. Whether you are rocking out an 18" floor tom, or a small and compact 10", 6-lug snare, the Mono Mount will ensure reliable and consistent performances.
