Istanbul Mehmet 14" Tony Williams Hi-Hat Cymbals
Turkish cymbal masters, Istanbul Mehmet have created a beautifully brilliant range of cymbals which have been created with a nod to the legendary drummer Tony Williams. Not only was Tony Williams an incredible drummer, he was an all round gifted musician and this range of cymbals are a tribute to his devotion to music, his contribution to sound and his amazing lifelong career. Tony was part of the iconic Miles Davis Quintet, a group he joined at the age of 17 years old, when he joined the happening group of the time he was catapulted into the public sphere.
The Tony Williams Tribute Range and in turn the Istanbul Mehmet 14" Tony Williams Tribute Hi-Hat has been respectfully re-created to be as close to the real thing as possible. Longevity was certainly at the forefront of Istanbul Mehmet's mind, they've been designed with the ethos of yesteryear, when instruments were made to last a lifetime and not just for gig time. Crafted using B20 bronze and hand hammered to perfection, every detail has been considered from the taper to the weight, size to the style, these are as near to the real thing that we'll ever experience!
The top and bottom of the hi hat cymbals nestle together beautifully and as we've described have been crafted to withstand a lifetime of drumming. They retain a warm, bright quality that creates a full, clear sound; a truly traditional hi hat. The chick that is produced is beautifully reminiscent of the golden era of the 1960's and the stick sound is firm and precise, it's truly incredible! Not only that the cymbals generate a competitive, comfortable stick response, true of all cymbals created with such mastery as these.
Versatile and penetrating these cymbals are perfect for a wide range of musical applications. A truly versatile range that will give you the oomph to perform with the same skill, dedication and class as the legendary Tony Williams.
