This Pre-Loved Vintage Tama Imperialstar King Beat 14" x 6.5" Snare Drum is a fantastic example of Tama's Japanese craftsmanship from the late 1970s and early 1980s. Part of the original Imperialstar range, the King Beat was a serious snare drum in its day, featuring a substantial chrome-over-steel shell, heavy die-cast hoops and a sophisticated parallel-action snare mechanism.

Built in Japan during one of Tama's most celebrated periods, the King Beat is an interesting alternative to more familiar vintage American steel snares. Equally suited to rock, funk and studio playing, it combines a big, authoritative sound with the distinctive engineering and character that make early Japanese Tama drums so appealing.
