Description
Promark Jonathan Haas Mallets
Percussion instructor and shop owner Herb Brochestein founded Promark back in 1957, in Houston, Texas where it's still based today! Since it's first years, Promark has became a widely known stick company, being the first company to introduce Japanese Shira-Kashi white oak into the American market, successfully becoming the only company to market oak sticks in the United States, and, in 2011, they became part of D'Addario. More recently, they have chosen to use non-endangered wood and a "green" finishing process, this makes their sticks and manufacturing process safer to each of their players and to the environment!
Designed by Jonathan Haas, the Promark Jonathan Haas JH1 Ultra Staccato Timpani Mallets provide the timpanist with a complementary choice of hard mallets. The oak handle offers added weight without added diameter for enhanced projection. With the weight to play loud, the softness to play delicately, and the balance needed to control speed and accuracy, these mallets are a great choice for professionals and students. Shira Kashi Oak is a dense and heavy wood providing a sturdy feel in your hand and excellent ride cymbal articulation. Sticks made of this Japanese Oak are exceptionally durable and usually last longer than other types of wood.
