Promark Tim Fairbanks Sticks

Percussion instructor and shop owner Herb Brochestein founded Promark back in 1957, in Houston, Texas where it's still based today! Since it's first years, Promark has became a widely known stick company, being the first company to introduce Japanese Shira-Kashi white oak into the American market, successfully becoming the only company to market oak sticks in the United States, and, in 2011, they became part of D'Addario. More recently, they have chosen to use non-endangered wood and a "green" finishing process, this makes their sticks and manufacturing process safer to each of their players and to the environment!

The Promark Tim Fairbanks FireGrain Marching Snare Drumsticks are marching snare sticks that feature large round, wooden tips with long, 4 ¼” tapers, rear tapers at the butt end and FireGrain finished hickory shafts. The large round tip offers full, articulate sounds with robust projection and the tapers produce great feel and balance. A large tip makes these sticks able to provide the necessary output volume needed for any situation, not only are they able to achieve projection during indoor marching performances, they excel outdoor too! The stick's handle diameter remains at .708" for a comfortable grip, gradually increasing to .755" in the shoulder for improved durability, making the area where rim shots are played more durable. Hickory isn't the most popular wood choice for no reason, it produces amazing resilience, responsiveness, durability and classic feel.

Promark's FireGrain finish is a revolutionary heat-tempering process that transforms ordinary hickory drumsticks into precision tools. Sticks that feature FireGrain possess unprecedented durability, while still obtaining their original weight, balance and attack. Hit harder and play longer, with no excess vibration or space age gimmicks. FireGrain sticks are just natural hickory, hardened by flame. Each FireGrain drumstick passes through a 4000 degree flame tunnel, a patented treatment that increases the lifespan of the drumstick
