Drum Kit Tuning & Set-Up – Important Information:

  • Non-Original Packaging: New drum kits are often supplied “Russian dolled”, with smaller drums packed inside larger drums to reduce packaging size. Once your kit has been unpacked, assembled and tuned, the drums may no longer fit safely back into their original factory packaging. We may therefore use alternative suitable packaging to ensure your kit is protected during transit.
  • Bass drum: For delivered orders, the bass drum will not be fully tuned. To minimise the risk of damage during transit, the bass drum heads and hoops may need to be removed for shipping. These will need to be fitted and tuned by the customer on arrival.
  • Transit: Drum heads can naturally change tension during transportation and because of changes in temperature or humidity. Minor re-tuning may therefore be required after delivery.
  • Tuning preference: Unless otherwise agreed, we will tune the kit to a balanced, general-purpose tuning suitable for the drum sizes and heads supplied. Final tuning is subjective and may require minor adjustment to suit your playing style, room, musical style or personal preference.

Sonor Vintage Series 4-piece Shell Pack in California Blue

Vintage instruments tell us stories. They bring the past to life. That is why we wanted to transform the original SONOR sound, look & feel of the fabulous 50s, 60s, and 70s drums into a contemporary concept: The Vintage Series. Updated teardrop lugs with TuneSafe and the sound of German Beechwood shells with fully rounded bearing edges.

Hand selected premium beech drum shells form the base for the Vintage Series drum kits and these shells also benefit from 9-ply cross laminated tension free feature on all drums. Rounded bearing edges offer increased head contact which allows for a fatter, warmer sound that is dry but extremely resonant. Redesigned Superprofil triple flanged hoops are as standard with the Vintage Series and they adopt a classic shape which sits beautifully against the bright California Blue finish. Vintage in design, vintage style and vintage in sound, an absolute asset to Sonor and we know you'll feel the exact same way.
